Toast announced on Thursday that it is expanding its partnership with Uber by making Uber Eats Direct the primary white-label delivery option for businesses using Toast’s services. As part of this change, Toast is shifting away from its previous default partner, DoorDash Drive, however, businesses will still have the option to continue using DoorDash Drive if they prefer.

To help with this, Uber Eats is adding a social twist to food delivery, allowing users to create and share lists of their favorite restaurants and dishes. This new feature is being rolled out in New York City and Chicago, with plans to expand to additional cities.

Grubhub and Amazon are working together to simplify deliveries to access-restricted residential buildings and gated communities. Grubhub couriers can use Amazon Key’s 1-Click Access tech to gain authorized entry to common areas without coordinating with staff or residents. Only the Grubhub driver assigned to a specific delivery can access the building’s common area, and their access to that area is time-limited.

DoorDash recently released findings exploring how online grocery is making a big difference for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) recipients in the U.S. According to a survey of over 2,400 SNAP recipients, 78 percent prefer using their benefits for grocery delivery instead of shopping in-store.

The platform caters to over 6.5 million users and is partnered with over 100,000 restaurants.
