Longview High School hosted a strong spring signing day ceremony at its campus turf room on Wednesday, with a dozen athletes from six different sports committing to colleges for the upcoming years. The school has now grown its Class of 2025 college signing group to 21 athletes during the current 2024-2025 school year. “It was neat,” Longview athletic director and head football coach John King said of all the sports represented during Wednesday’s event. “We had six [sports].

Longview built up a two-run lead by the bottom of the sixth inning of Tuesday night’s 10-6A home baseball district game, but its effort wasn’t enough as North Forney stormed back with three runs in the top of the seventh to grab its own come-from-behind 5-4 victory. The Lobos dropped their year record to 7-16 and district record to 2-5 before they travel to North Forney's ballpark for Thursday’s 7 p.m. rematch. The Falcons, meanwhile, improved their year mark to 6-14-1 and league mark to 3-6.

LeTourneau University’s baseball program bounced back from a slow start to the 2025 season, and has found an important groove as it competes for the American Southwest Conference championship this week. The YellowJackets owned a 6-11 record by March 20 before they charged back with a 12-2 stretch between March 21 and April 12 to reach their current 18-13 season mark.
