DISGRACED former Scotland rugby skipper Stuart Hogg has been convicted of a five-year domestic abuse campaign against his estranged wife. The 32-year-old rugby ace admitted the charge against Gillian Hogg on the first day of his trial today. We told earlier how Hogg arrived at court this morning flanked by his mum Margaret and dad John. The trial was due to last three days at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

SIR Keir Starmer's car was chased by an angry Palestine protester as he arrived in Edinburgh. The Prime Minister arrived in the capital this morning for the first-ever meeting of the Council of Nations and Regions. The meeting is a bit to improve relations between the UK Government and devolved administrations across the country. But as he arrived at Queen Elizabeth House in Edinburgh, his car was chased by a flag-waving protester who screamed at him as he drove past.

A MAN has died after an explosion ripped through a block of flats. The home on Kellie Place in Alloa was destroyed by the blast, which saw a major emergency response. Police locked down the surrounding roads as fire crews deployed specialist rescue crews to the scene. A man was inside the flat when the explosion took place and was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other people who were in the building during the blast were raced to Forth Valley Royal Hospital with minor injuries.
