    A teenager has died following a police chase in Greater Manchester yesterday. The man, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene in Sudden, Rochdale. Police said officers began pursuing Toyota Aqua Hybrid after being called to a report of a theft of motor vehicle on William Greenwood Close, in Heywood, at about 9.15pm. A “short pursuit took place” when the Toyota failed to stop, the Manchester Evening News reported. The car collided with a Volkswagen Up in Manchester Road.

    A chef has been left with devastating injuries after becoming "trapped" in a harrowing double-decker bus crash. Gideon Ingham, 32, was on his way to work aboard a Bee Network bus in Manchester when it smashed into the back of another bus. The crash left him with severe neck and back injuries, cuts, and extensive damage to his left leg. He has been unable to work since the incident.

    Several homes have been left under water after a water main burst, which also caused the closure of several schools. Vehicles parked on a road in the Kirkholt estate, in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, can be seen partially under water as a result of the incident. Engineers are at the scene as some people living nearby were warned they may experience a drop in water pressure.

    A Jet2 plane en route to Manchester Airport was forced to make a rapid U-turn due to a 'technical issue'. The aircraft had taken off from Antalya Airport in Turkey just after 11.45pm on Tuesday, only to circle back within 90 minutes. Passengers recounted a tense atmosphere, including one woman who claimed there was a 'loud bang' and a distinct 'burning/chemical smell'. The woman, who was not named, told Manchester Evening News: "Lots of people [were] scared... Quite a few passengers [were] vomiting.
