UPDATE: May 13 at 10:22 a.m.The Sawlog Fire in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest grew ten acres over Monday night into Tuesday and is now 94 percent contained, according to a release from the national forest. Crews used infrared to determine that there are no heat spots along the edges of the fire. Helicopters will not be in use today due to the weather forecast. Yesterday the fire got only small amounts of rain and saw gusty winds.

UPDATE on May 10, 2025 at 9:12 PM:WALLA WALLA CO, Wash. – A fatal traffic collision occurred on State Route 124, 10 miles northeast of Burbank, involving two vehicles, according to a report from the Washington State Patrol. The incident happened on May 10, 2025, at 11:52 a.m.The collision involved a black Chevrolet Traverse and a white Freightliner Cascadia. The Chevrolet, driven by Amanda L. Wolf, 50, of Burbank, WA, crossed the center line and struck the Freightliner head-on.

BILLINGS, Mont. - The Billings Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday night at an unofficial car meet. Just before 11 p.m., officers were sent to the 3900 block of King Avenue West for an alleged fight that broke out at the meet, resulting in at least one person shooting multiple times. Police say one vehicle at the meet was damaged by gunfire. The suspects fled before officers arrived. An investigation is ongoing, per BPD.

YAKIMA, Wash. - The Yakima Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that took place early Saturday morning, according to a news release. YPD says at around 1:06 a.m., officers were sent to an apartment on the 1100 block of North 4th Street for a report of a gunshot victim. Police and medical personnel found a 37-year-old man in the apartment with gunshot wounds. Despite emergency medical attention, he did not survive. Detectives are currently investigating the shooting.
