An Oklahoma County judge has yet to decide if Richard Glossip will be released on bail while he waits to be retried for murder. In a court hearing on Tuesday, Oklahoma County Judge Heather Coyle said she needs more time to review transcripts from Glossip’s previous trials before she can make a decision about his release. She said she expects to issue a written order by July 23.

The Oklahoma City Council has approved an ordinance that makes it easier to build accessory dwelling units — little bonus houses on the same lot as another house. Before now, ADUs weren’t allowed to be used as residences without special approval from the city, called Simplified Planned Unit Developments. Those take time and money, and they require negotiations from the City Planning Commission on a case-by-case basis.

Stitt vetoed more bills in 2025 than in any previous legislative session as governor, both in number and percentage.

Former Norman Mayor and Oklahoma Rep. Bill Nations died at 82 on Feb. 4 after battling cancer. Nations was born in Greenville, Texas, in 1942. He attended Noble High School and earned a history degree from OU. He attended dental school at Baylor University, where he met his wife, Teena Nations. The two married on June 2, 1967, in Dallas. Nations served in the Navy until 1970 when he and Teena moved to Norman, where he opened a dental practice on Main Street.
