Dalager, who led the boys team to back-to-back state championships before the pandemic, cited spending time with family as her main reason for stepping down. She will still continue to teach at Churchill County High School.

    Connecting youth and the pros is one of the main focuses for this year’s Battle Born Broncs rodeo event. The two-day event, which kicks off Friday, will feature talks with coaches and pros, clinics, high school rodeo and the signature bronc event on Saturday. “I love it because it's not just pertaining to rodeo,” event organizer Darcie Spero said about Friday’s opening event, a discussion with coaches.

    It’s not often you see a coaching bench like the one the Fallon girls have. While high school basketball teams average 2-3 coaches, including the head coach, Kevin Wickware assembled a team of five assistants, ranging in years of experience, to help guide this past season’s team. With three first-year coaches on his staff, Wickware and his team continued building the girls basketball program and, in January, they took a big step.
