THOMPSON – In 2025 Modified veteran Ron Silk won’t be chasing points anywhere. The hope for the Haydt-Yanonne Racing driver from Norwalk is that instead of chasing points in 2025 he will be getting chased by everyone else on the track. That was the case on Saturday at Thompson Speedway when the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series presented by Better Basement Systems opened its 2025 season with the running of the Propane Plus Heating & Cooling 75.

Nine-time and reigning Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series champion Matt Hirschman has withdrawn from today’s season opening Propane Plus Heating & Cooling 75 at Thompson Speedway. Hirschman has started 56 of the 57 Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series events run since the division’s inception in 2014. Hirschman, of Northampton, Pa., announced the decision in a posting on Facebook this morning.

The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series presented by Better Basement Systems is on track for Saturday with the Propane Plus Heating & Cooling 75 at Thompson Speedway for the division’s 2025 season opener. Track operators announced Thursday that the Saturday portion of the 51st Icebreaker weekend at Thompson is on as scheduled, along with Friday’s practice day.
