The chase for a New London-Waterford Speedbowl SK Modified championship began in perfect style Sunday for Eric Berndt. The longtime Speedbowl veteran scored victory in the 74-lap SK Modified feature Sunday at Blastoff Weekend at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. It was the 29th career SK Modified victory for Berndt at the Speedbowl, tying him for fifth place with Bob Potter on the division’s all-time win list at the shoreline oval.

It was a home track celebration for Chris Pasteryak Saturday at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. Pasteryak, of Lisbon, scored victory in the 75-lap Modified Racing Series feature at day one of Blastoff Weekend at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl. It was Pasteryak’s 14th career Modified Racing Series victory dating back to 2006. Brett Meservey of Chatham, Mass. was second and Dylan Izzo of Monroe was third. Doug Meservey Jr. of Harwich, Mass. won the 25-lap Pro Four Modified feature.

JDV Productions and NASCAR announced Friday morning that Saturday’s NASCAR Modified Tour Cheshire County Clash at Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, N.H. has been postponed due to expected weather issues in the area. No makeup date was announced. A release from NASCAR stated: “Officials from JDV Productions, the racetrack, and NASCAR are working collaboratively to find a date in the best interest of competitors and race fans. An announcement on the new event date is expected to come next week.”

STAFFORD – The 53rd Spring Sizzler Sunday at Stafford Speedway saw cold and blustery conditions from Mother Nature, but plenty of heat on the historic half mile oval.
