BRYCE, AZ (AZFamily) — Hundreds of firefighters working to contain a fast-moving wildfire are preparing for windy conditions on Monday. A Red Flag Fire Warning has been issued for parts of eastern and southeastern Arizona, including Graham County, where the Bryce Fire grew to thousands of acres over the weekend. Now, crews are working to reinforce efforts before the “incoming critical fire weather” that could impact operations over the next few days.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The man who was rescued from a 50-foot tree in west Phoenix died from his injuries. Police say 43-year-old Jaime Yepiz died after being transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Phoenix firefighters responded to the area of 67th Avenue and Thomas Road for reports of a tree trimmer stuck in a palm tree. “All hell broke loose,” said Richard Chard, a neighbor.

BUCKEYE, AZ (AZFamily) —Police have identified the man who died in a motorcycle crash in Buckeye on Friday afternoon. The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on Heritage Street and Lost Creek Drive, near the Verrado Golf Club. Buckeye Police responded to the scene, where Christopher Hummel, a 22-year-old motorcyclist, was the only one involved in the accident. Hummel was taken to the hospital, where he later died. Police say speed appears to be a factor in the crash, and an investigation is ongoing.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Fire crews are trying to rescue a tree trimmer reportedly stuck in a 50-foot palm tree in west Phoenix on Saturday morning. Details are limited. Around 9:30 a.m., first responders were called to a tree rescue near 67th Avenue and Thomas Road. Phoenix Fire says the scene is very active and is asking the public to stay out of the area where fire trucks are working.
