After 76 years of operation in Yankton, Cimpl Meats ceased operations on Monday morning. An estimated 300 employees were informed that their jobs no longer existed today as parent company American Foods Group closed its doors, saying that the location was not profitable and that operations would be moved to a site in Missouri. Sources say that city leaders were informed of the decision to cease operations at about the same time as employees were told of their fate.
