On the road less traveled, this Mets minor leaguer is raising eyebrows in the minors with his sheer dominance. David Stearns gets a lot of credit for his under-the-radar roster additions. In a year+ with the New York Mets, we’ve seen everything from big league cast-offs on major league deals to unknowns thrive with the organization. The latter hasn’t had any major benefit just yet but their success continues to have us screaming the praises of the POBO.

Recent New York Mets rumors of interest in Luis Robert Jr. suggest David Stearns isn’t fully content at one of baseball’s most difficult positions to fill. Gone are the days of multiple Hall of Famers, if any, patrolling the outfield position up the middle. Center field is a position where, if you can get superb defense, you should be satisfied enough. There's no such thing as bad publicity? Many people’s jobs involve tedium or a task of some kind that just needs to get done. In a previous job, my boss had me hashtagging things on Facebook despite it having no effect on social media posts. Some poor soul working for the New York Mets minor league team in Syracuse experienced a little more backlash than I ever did for putting a number sign in a Facebook post.
