Residents in Welshpool are being warned to stay inside and lock doors and windows, after a blaze erupted in a factory building in Kurnall Road. The building — believed to contain machinery — was reported alight just before 3pm on Sunday. Several firefighting crews were at the scene or en route. DFES officials issued a warning of heavy smoke in the area. Roads in and around the blaze are likely to be closed, and motorists were being asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully.
