O'FALLON — Centralia pitcher Madison Francois was just the solution for the Annies against an aggressive Marion Lady Wildcat offense. Francois tantalized the sluggers from Williamson County with rise balls that looked good until they weren't, striking out 15 as Centralia topped Marion 6-0 to win the Class 3A Triad Sectional championship. kAm%96 82>6 H2D A=2J65 2E ~Vu2==@? 5F6 E@ H6E 8C@F?5D :?

MARION — Marion slugger Maecee Coleman was thinking changeup. Waterloo pitcher Aiden Dintelman was thinking changeup too. Dintelman’s 2-2 changeup with two outs in the top of the fifth turned into a two-run homer for Coleman, propelling the Lady Wildcats to a 3-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs in the semifinal of the Triad Class 3A Sectional Tuesday. kAm|2C:@? :D ?@H ae\f 7@C E96 D62D@?[ 2?5 A=2JD r6?EC2=:2 :? MARION -- The Marion High School softball team had no intention of watching history repeat itself Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Wildcats erupted for eight runs in the first two innings and rolled to an 11-2 win over Herrin in the IHSA Class 3A Regional Championship game at Marion. Two years ago, the top-seeded Lady Wildcats saw their season reach an unexpected early end when they were stunned by Herrin in the opening round. Marion took away all doubt about Tuesday's game early.

MARION, Ill. - The 2024-25 boys basketball season was certainly a historic season at Marion High School. The Wildcat boys did something in the past season that no boys program had done in 37 years. Marion finished 6-2 in the South Seven Conference, clinching a share of the conference title. It was a feat that had not been accomplished since the 1987-88 season. Chemistry, maturity, coachability, ownership, experience, accepting the team role.
