Group 1-winning mare Deny Knowledge has been retired after a below par run in last Saturday’s Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick. Yulong Investments announced the decision on Tuesday morning saying the Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained seven-year-old retires happy and healthy and will join a star-studded broodmare band. Across 41 career starts, Deny Knowledge won over $2.3m in prize money with her finest hour coming in last spring’s G1 Might And Power Stakes.

Glen Thompson will continue to train in his own right after securing boxes at Flemington following last week’s announcement Ballymore Stables has been absorbed by Lindsay Park. Thompson, who is the son of multiple Group 1-winning trainer Vic, will have room for 20 horses at headquarters and will kick off his new chapter in the coming weeks. “I’ve been lucky enough to have been given 20 boxes at Flemington to press on with,” Thompson said.

Unbeaten colt Vinrock has been acquired by Yulong Investments following his victory in the Group 1 Sires' Produce on Day 1 of The Championships. The Matt Laurie-trained I Am Invincible colt has won just shy of $1 million in prizemoney from his three starts, having won the VRC Sires' in the spring. "Yulong have been great to me, and we have already enjoyed huge success on the racecourse together with Treasurethe Moment," Laurie said.

James McDonald has revealed his movements over the coming months, with feature racing set to head north in Australia and ramp up overseas. The star rider plans to compete in Queensland's Group 1s during May and June before heading to the UK to once again ride at Royal Ascot's famous meeting. "Champions Day (Hong Kong) in two weeks, float around Brisbane for a little bit and hopefully end up at Royal Ascot with a runner or two," McDonald said.
