Andrew Balding has experienced great success travelling horses to Australia, having won the 2013 Champions Stakes (2000m) with Side Glance, and could add to that tally in the spring after Bellum Justum qualified for the Caulfield Cup. Over the weekend, the four-year-old colt won the Group 2 Jockey Club Stakes (2414m), a race which is a ballot-exempt contest for Caulfield's staying feature.

For the past eight years, James Cummings has led the private training model, a position that was also previously held by Peter Snowden and John O'Shea.
