Lindsay Zoladz, a pop music critic for The Times, has long been a fan of Neko Case's genre-defying music. But she says that Case's new memoir, "The Harder I Fight the More I Love You," made her appreciate Case's music anew. "Getting a slightly more linear sense of certain things that were going on in her life at the time that she wrote some of her greatest albums really gave me a new sense of clarity into her experience," Zoladz said. It also led Zoladz to re-listen to some of her favorite tracks.

The screenwriter Peter Straughan has become adept at taking well known - and beloved - books and adapting them for the big and small screens. He was first nominated for an Oscar for his screenplay of the 2011 film "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy," based on the classic John le Carré spy novel, and then adapted Hilary Mantel's "Wolf Hall" trilogy into an award-winning season of television, with an adaptation of the third novel coming out soon.
