早在1952年， Christian Dior 先生便以「Tokyo」為名，為 Christian Dior–New York 的秋冬系列設計了一款洋裝。隔年，一套高級訂製服命名為「Jardin Japonais（日本花園）」，1954年更推出「Outamaro」——一件由京都龍村美術織物工坊所織成的華麗錦緞打造而成的服裝。1953年，Dior 成為第一位在日本發表系列的高級訂製服設計師，鞏固了他身為法國時尚傳奇的地位。而1959年，他更獲選為日本皇太子妃美智子（後來的皇后）設計民間婚禮的三套禮服，將這份認可推至高峰。「自1940年代末起，Christian Dior 先生就堅信要將 Dior 打造成一個全球性的品牌。」現任創意總監 Maria Grazia Chiuri 表示歷任設計總監皆延續了品牌與日本之間的連結，不僅致敬其文化，更致敬其豐饒之美。1971年，Marc Bohan 在東京舉行了一場靈感來自日本歌舞伎戲劇的精彩時裝秀；其後 Gianfranco Ferré 接棒，John Galliano...
