Once again, Manhattan High track and field took first place with the boys' and girls' squads in the Indians’ home meet at Bishop Stadium on Friday. The Manhattan boys scored 208 points, and the girls scored 243. The invite had fewer competitors than normal due to the Kansas Relays in Lawrence and a holiday weekend. The six-team field consisted of Maize, Wichita East, Junction City, Topeka High, and Highland Park. Still, MHS took full advantage of the opportunity to compete on its home turf.

By Toby HammesHome-court advantage made the difference in the season series between Manhattan High girls’ basketball and Topeka High, as the Trojans took their second matchup 64-52 in Topeka on Friday. The Indians (10-6) needed a bounce back from a 30-point league loss at Washburn Rural on Tuesday, but unfortunately faced a similar result. Manhattan dropped to 3-3 in league play, despite a late push, including 15 second-half points by junior Kat Ball.
