ATTENTION. The following is for “The Office” fans only:You may or may not know I’m a huge fan of “The Office.” Sometimes, when I read stories in the Bible, I imagine how Michael Scott might have handled them. The right choice should be easy to make, shouldn’t it? Sometimes we know what the right choice is but we’re scared to make it because of what it will cost. But if the choice is between lying to yourself (or others), or speaking up with the truth, the truth is always the best choice. Lies lead to bondage. I’m reminded by my wife often that I tend to paint things with broad strokes. To me, things tend to be black or white; there are no shades of grey. The truth is that many good things have happened. I’ve just been required to be willing to see the good in many situations, and it’s not an easy thing for me. My friend Jeff Stark is a terrific pastor, teacher, and writer.
