To my BRIGHT-FM family,Have I ever told you that you are one of my loftiest dreams come true and biggest prayers answered? As a kid jamming along to WRBS—and then SHINE-FM—in the back of my parents’ red minivan, I never would have imagined that I would be one of the DJs I heard in between the songs. Even once I got older and decided I wanted to pursue a career in broadcasting, I hardly dared to picture a future that would include being on the Afternoon Show. But I hoped for it.

I like to think I trust God. I say that I do. When situations arise, do I believe Him the way I claim? Absolutely not. I am a worry wart. I used to believe that I did not struggle with anxiety because panic attacks weren’t a normal experience for me, but I do. Needing to be in control, overanalyzing situations, and being paralyzed by perfectionism are all outward signs of an inward battle with anxiety.

Pumpkins, corn mazes, hay rides…oh my!Whenever fall rolls around, some special memories come to mind. The season would always begin with my mom breaking out the fall decorations box. The decorations were placed throughout the house. It was an explosion of red, yellow, and orange!She would also take us to pumpkin patches to pick out pumpkins that we could carve and use to decorate the front porch.

Sometimes we’re afraid to go to God with our prayers, or we’re afraid to go back to His door with the same request because we feel like we’re bugging Him.
