    EVANSVILLE - The Barr-Reeve baseball team (27-6) did everything but win on Saturday at historic Bosse Field in Evansville. Viking pitcher Seth Wagler threw over a 100 pitches and limited No.1 Mater Dei to just three extra base hits in the 2-1, 2A extra-inning regional loss. However, just an MD run in the top of the eighth and run in the top of the first made all the difference and kept the No. 10 Vikes from their third straight trip to semi-state.

    VINCENNES – The Barr-Reeve Vikings and Washington Hatchet golf teams have battled at Country Oaks all season. On Friday, they took that battle to Cypress Hills in the IHSAA sectional with Washington posting a one stroke margin for the third spot over B-R, 319 to 320. The event was won by Gibson Southern with a 298, followed by host Lincoln with a 313 and then Washington. B-R will get to advance freshman Lincoln Miller, who fired a 74 (36-38). GS’s Peyton Blackard was the overall winner with a 66.

    The Barr-Reeve Viking softball teams posted three players on to the Blue Chip all-conference softball team. B-R's Haley Huff, Hallie Knepp and Kennedy Huff were all named. Ashley Green Loogootee, Adalie Kalb NEDubois, Ally Crist North Knox, Javen Miller North Knox, Abbi Rollins Shoals, Cala Charleston, Braelyn Gladish, Maycie Linneweber of South Knox. Also named was Addy Phillips, Bailey Schoonover, Audrey Schultz and Carly Schoonover of Wood Memorial.
