BISMARCK — For the first time, the Sheyenne Mustangs are boys basketball state champions as the Mustangs defeated Fargo North Saturday night in the Division AA boys basketball state championship game at the Bismarck Event Center. After a shot-for-shot battle through the first half and much of the second, the Mustangs broke things open with five minutes left to play on their way to a 78-62 victory. “It’s extremely special,” said Mustangs coach Tim Brandt.
