Active weather fires up to start the weekend, stay weather aware Friday! Scattered showers and storms early in the day will transition to a more organized round of strong to severe storms Friday afternoon into the evening. Watch for damaging wind, hail and heavy rain, fortunately the tornado threat is low. With a stalled front still hanging around, we'll see additional strong storms Saturday afternoon with a higher severe threat toward our southern border.

A cold front that's been slowly approaching the Ohio Valley since the beginning of the week finally sags south and fires up active weather. We'll end up partly to mostly cloudy Thursday with highs in the low to mid 80s, we're still warm but watch for a few showers and strong storms in the afternoon/evening. More widespread coverage develops Friday with the front draped across the Commonwealth, stay weather aware.

Our first real taste of summer warmth peaks midweek with highs well above normal, in the mid to upper 80s with mostly to partly sunny skies. Enjoy it while you can, active weather is on the rise to wrap up the work week and will linger into the weekend. Highs stay in the 80s Thursday but watch for scattered showers and t-showers later in the day. Our most active day will be Friday, with showers and storms likely as a front briefly stalls across the Commonwealth.

We'll continue to warm up Tuesday with more sunshine and highs soaring into the mid 80s with mid to upper 80s likely midweek, our warmest of the year so far. Soak up the sun and the summery weather, we have unsettled weather heading our way later this week. Scattered showers and storms will develop late Thursday as a front approaches the Ohio River.

June (and meteorological summer) started Sunday and your Stormtracker forecast will feel every bit of it over the next few days. High pressure takes over and with a north/northwest wind we'll see loads of hazy sunshine (Canadian wildfires) with near normal highs around 80° Monday. A south/southwest wind shift will clear the haze and send highs climbing to well above normal through midweek.
