Friday will be a day to Stay Weather Aware. It'll be a warm and humid day which will lead to thunderstorms developing, especially late afternoon. Some of these storms may be strong or severe with high winds being the greatest threat. Locally heavy rain is also possible. Our first burst of summer heat is on the way out as we head toward the latter part of the week. As the rain chances rise Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the highs will be falling back to the 70s this weekend. It's not looking like a huge cool down, but back to being just below normal and more like May this weekend. Until then, we'll see a high in the low 80s again on Thursday with plenty of humidity around. We'll be dodging those hit and miss storms Thursday afternoon.

Summer weather finally arrived Tuesday. It was our first 85 degree high for the year, which is the 16th latest and over 3 weeks late. We also enjoyed enough humidity that you noticed it and it really felt like a summer day. Tomorrow is looking even hotter as we surge into the upper 80s and could flirt with 90 in places. We'll see a mostly sunny sky again, but it will be tempered some by both Canadian smoke as well as from the Saharan Dust layer.
