Grace Davidson, 36, from north London, received the organ – also called the uterus – from her older sister, Amy, in the UK’s first womb transplant in 2023. Now, following the huge success of the procedure, she has given birth to baby Amy Isabel, named after her aunt and a surgeon who helped perfect the technique.

The road is closed near the M6A major North Staffordshire road is closed following a crash in Stoke-on-Trent today (Sunday, April 6). The A500 Southbound is shut to traffic between the A34 and the M6. The closure on the road, known as the D-road, was first reported at around 5pm. A number of vehicles are reported to be involved.

Police were called to Milton Keynes Central shortly before 1pm on TuesdayPolice in Milton Keynes have released an update after officers shot and killed a man outside the city's railway station today (Tuesday, April 1). Armed police were called to Milton Keynes Central after reports of a man carrying a firearm. Upon arrival police say they challenged a man who then moved towards officers 'at speed' while armed with a knife.
