    Back in February, Mayo singer Marc Roberts was a guest on RTÉ Today and spoke about his Eurovision experience and his opinion of Ireland's entry for the 2025 song contest in Switzerland. Roberts, who represented the country at Eurovision 1997 with the song "Mysterious Woman", achieved a second-place finish in Dublin. Ireland had won the song contest the last three of the four years before Roberts' entry, with the latest being Eimer Quinn with the song "The Voice" in 1996.

    The sun was shining and there were smiles aplenty at The Mall in Castlebar last Sunday morning. Female runners, joggers and walkers - young and old, from near and far - gathered to take part in this year’s Mayo.ie Western People West of Ireland Women’s Mini-Marathon. I wrote this article live from the Mall, as the enormity of the event struck a chord, with approximately 2,000 women and girls descending on the town, as well as hundreds of youngsters who took part in the Mini-Mini event.

    Seán Grehan was the two-goal second-half hero as Bohemians came back to defeat Galway United 2-1 at a sun-swept Eamonn Deacy Park.     At just 15 years old, teenage running sensation Freya Renton claimed first place in this year's Mayo.ie Western People Women's Mini Marathon 2025. The Westport AC athlete came in at a time of 32:59, while her twin sister, Holly, also finished in the top five. Speaking to the Western People, Freya said: "It was a good race with a lot of good people. I just kept going, and my sister keeps pushing me on, so it is great."Watch the winning moment below:  
