Days after the death of former NFL agent Jeff Sperbeck, in a fall from a golf cart driven by his friend and football legend John Elway in La Quinta, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said it appeared to be a “tragic accident.” An investigation to confirm that was still ongoing, however. Sheriff Chad Bianco also told The Denver Post that no evidence had been found that Elway was driving the cart while drunk.

Stagecoach 2025 has (nearly) come to a close, and luckily Mother Nature treated country music lovers to another lovely day to close out the festival at the Empire Polo Club. The festival’s final day had a high bar to clear after Jelly Roll, Shaboozey, Nelly, Creed and more brought the house down on Day 2. Although it arguably had less star power, the Day 3 lineup featured up-and-coming local talents, nostalgic throwbacks and even some clubbing inside Diplo’s HonkyTonk.

Fresh off seeing T-Pain’s fun-filled Coachella set a week earlier, I couldn’t help but wonder if I was in for a letdown at Stagecoach this year. How could the rapper and autotune aficionado possibly top the string of hits he played to a sea of millennials last weekend? But if there were any questions of T-Pain’s versatility — which should’ve been put to rest a decade ago by his NPR Tiny Desk performance — the Tallahassee native answered them in the Palomino stage Friday night.
