Valders trailed until the bottom of the fifth before scoring eight unanswered runs to defeat the Xavier Hawks 8-2 in the WIAA Division 3 sectional final to clinch the program’s first-ever state appearance. It was a pair of juniors who sparked the Vikings, pitcher Megan Hochkammer and designated player Madison Bergel.

Here are the top prep performers from the week of May 26-31 in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties. There won’t be a set number of players chosen in each sport in a given week, just including performances which stood out and deserve recognition. This means there might be more or less than the week previous. Another criteria is to limit selections to one player per team, per sport. Need a break?
