    Just a short follow-up to the December 10 opinion piece “Why I dread repair work on Tucson’s streets.” Several months ago, Blacklidge Drive (a midtown street) was completely scraped down to the dirt and then rebuilt. Nice job was done. Currently though, Blacklidge is again being torn up in order to replace water lines. One might think that the waterline work would have preceded the street work. One might think that, but who am I to second-guess?

    July 11, and another letter to ed praising Trump’s management of the economy. “The economy was humming, unemployment low for all, inflation at 1.4% … etc.” No mention of, nor credit given to, Obama first turning around the woeful economy he inherited from Bush after its destruction in 2008. Obama inherited an unemployment rate of nearly 10%, and cut it by half. Biden inherited an unemployment rate of 8% (thanks to Trump’s mismanagement of Covid), and it currently is 3.7%.
