India’s push to achieve its ambitious 500GW renewable energy target by 2030 requires a significant growth in investment, but if commissioning delays and a new focus on dispatchable projects cause costs of capital to increase then the country could fall 100GW short, according to a new report by think tank Ember Climate. In FY2024, a total of US$13.3 billion was invested in renewables, storage and transmission in India.
