Tom Hiddleston has just wrapped up starring opposite Hayley Atwell in a record-breaking production of Much Ado About Nothing. The West End staging, directed by Jamie Lloyd, was described as “simply sublime Shakespeare” by our lead critic Sarah Crompton. Orange Tree Theatre has announced complete casting for the upcoming production of Terence Rattigan’s In Praise of Love. The drama, loosely based on the relationship between the actor Rex Harrison and his wife Kay Kendall, is set in England in 1973. It follows Estonian refugee Lydia and her Marxist literary critic husband Sebastian, who both previously worked in wartime intelligence, and the arrival of Lydia’s admirer, a best-selling American author.

Written and performed by Anoushka Lucas, Elephant will return to the stage next month in a reimagined new production at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Originally commissioned and developed by the Bush Theatre, where it enjoyed two successful runs, the piece received a glowing review from WhatsOnStage’s Sarah Crompton in 2022, being described as “angry, but also funny, warm, and insightful”.
