Most of Alienware’s gaming laptops look like they came from another planet; the reimagined Aurora range feels a little closer to home, for blending in around the office, classroom or coffee shop when it isn’t play time.

Photographers with more stamps in their passport than a philatelist has Penny Blacks should start cashing in their air miles now; Leica has a new limited-run camera on the way. The Leica M11-P Safari Edition continues the firm’s tradition of giving its mirrorless cameras an olive green makeover, and instantly making them collector’s items in the process. The Safari Edition started life in the ’60s, originally for military use.

Scratching that gamer itch has never been easier now that best phones can run console-quality releases. Cloud streaming also means pretty much anything with an internet connection can do a convincing impression of your Xbox or PlayStation. So why not get a gamepad that can do both? The new Backbone Pro brings quick-pairing wireless tech and a long battery, so you can get your game on even when it’s not cradling your smartphone.

There aren’t too many Bluetooth speakers I’d go as far to call ‘iconic’, but the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 is one of ’em. The lavish little music box is now back for a third generation, with brawnier bass and a longer-lasting battery. B&O has also stepped things up on the repairability side, too.

It takes a lot more than sensors with sky-high pixel counts to make a class-leading camera phone. The right image processing algorithms can lift one flagship above the competition – which is why most brands keep their software smarts under lock and key. So when OnePlus offered to show me around one of its camera tuning facilities, it was as rare opportunity to see what goes into the firm’s secret snapper sauce.

Wearable tech has come a long way in a relatively short space of time. Two decades ago, recording your heart rate meant being wired up to an ECG machine, or wearing a chest strap 24/7. Now your smartwatch can do it with a tap – and throws in step count, blood oxygen levels and a sleep report for good measure. Today’s fitness trackers are stuffed full of sensors and can accurately chart hundreds of different sports, activities, and exercises. Those sensors don’t do much by themselves, though.

The new Razr 60 Ultra clamshell might be Motorola’s hot new thing, but the firm hasn’t been asleep at the wheel when it comes to mid-range phones. The Edge 60 Pro has just landed in the UK and Europe to take the fight to Google’s Pixel 9a – and its baby brother looks like even more of a bargain. The duo follow on from the ultra-affordable Edge 60 Fusion launched in early April, adding extra power and more capable cameras while sticking with the same colourful, contrarian styling.

OnePlus is breaking new ground with the 13T. The firm’s first compact flagship smartphone has just been officially revealed in China, with top-tier hardware, a brand new look, and an absolutely gigantic battery. Thought small phones couldn’t hold high capacity cells? Think again: the 6.32in OnePlus 13T has a mammoth 6260mAh on tap, which should give it epic staying power.

Porsche went a bit further than hanging up a disco ball and breaking out the flared trousers for its latest special edition sports car. The 1970’s-inspired Porsche 911 Spirit 70 arrives alongside its own virtual reality app for the Apple Vision Pro, sending would-be owners back in time to get a close look at their custom configuration, before they step foot in a dealership or pull the trigger on an order.

It was inevitable, really. Once Apple unveiled Camera Control for the iPhone 16, the Android world was guaranteed to put their own spin on it sooner or later. Flagships got there first, but Honor is the first to give an affordable phone a customisable camera button. The £250 Honor 400 Lite also – unsurprisingly – makes it all about AI. Press and hold the very Apple-esque side button anywhere within Android and Google Lens will kick in, to identify objects and translate text.
