    The Kildare footballers booked their quarter-final spot in the Tailteann Cup with a hard-earned four point win over Sligo at King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon, on Sunday afternoon last. It was a game that saw Kildare lead at one stage by no less than fifteen points but, Sligo, playing with the aid of a massive wind in the second half, cut that back to two but in the end The Lilies held out to win by four.
