CASPER, Wyo. — A building that has stood in downtown Casper since the 1800s recently found new life as Casper CitiWerks, recently opened in the Odd Fellow building on East 2nd Street, the oldest building in the city. CitiWerks aims to provide people with a space to work and professionally collaborate. “CitiWerks is a coworking space that acts as a hot desk, essentially,” CitiWerks manager Avery Maxner said. “People can come here for remote working, business planning, meetings — you name it.

CASPER, Wyo. — Citing staffing cuts and decreased funds, the City of Casper will be scaling back the holiday lighting at Healing Park on Conwell during the Christmas season. Last year, the holiday square at Healing Park featured 67 lit trees. This year, the number of trees will be reduced by more than half to 30. The gazebo and various other displays will be lit like usual, though.

CASPER, Wyo. — Recorded instances of homelessness in the Casper area community are up roughly 11% from the prior year, according to data collected in this year’s Point in Time count. Performed annually by Community Action Partnership, the PIT Count is designed to identify and connect with the unsheltered and unstably housed members of the community. When conducting the count, teams take to the streets, visiting places in the community that are frequented by the homeless population.

CASPER, Wyo. — Casper area families will be able to enjoy an evening of summertime fun in the coming days, as Mike Sedar Pool will host its Tropical Splash Bash on June 28. The event is scheduled to last from 6 to 8 p.m.In addition to open swim, the event will feature a variety of refreshments, snacks and raffle prize giveaways. Raffle participants must be present to win.

CASPER< Wyo. — More than $42,000 was recently raised for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming at the Vista Toyota Golf Country Classic fundraiser. Hosted on June 20, the annual event raised $42,655 in total, which will be used to support the club’s annual operating budget. This year’s winning team included Matt Cassel, Paul Bertoglio, Gary Johnson and Tom Popilek. This year, competitors heard from teen club member and Career Works program participant Lillie P.
