Witnesses say the agents were at a local residence to detain a woman of Brazilian descent. A crowd of protesters converged on the street, with some clearly angry with the agents. Among those on hand was District 5 City Councilor Etel Haxhiaj.

Skipping the September preliminary election to head directly to the Nov. 4 election ballot will be two candidates for each City Council district seat and three candidates for the two at-large School Committee seats, among others.
