    It’s been a busy but productive last couple of weeks for the Forest Lake girls track and field team. A handful of Ranger athletes ultimately qualified for the Hamline Elite Meet on Friday, April 25 at Hamline University in St. Paul, prior to the girls also competing in the University of Minnesota invitational most recently on Thursday, May 1 via a 138 team score — good for a first-place finish overall out of nine total schools.

    The Forest Lake boys baseball team fell to Roseville on Wednesday, April 30 by way of a close 4-2 final score. Two days later on Friday, May 2 the boys fell 8-2 to Cretin-Derham Hall, the top Class AAAA team in the state of Minnesota. But the Rangers regrouped the following week with a 11-6 home win over Woodbury to grab its sixth win of the season on Monday, May 5. The Rangers are 12-1 through the first thirteen games of the 2025 season, a record that showcases the dominance of this year’s squad. Head coach Sean Hall’s unit ripped off eight consecutive wins to open up the campaign before falling to Stillwater via a 5-2 final score on Wednesday, April 23.

    Freshman triple jumper Kendra Heintz of Rush City was one of the youngest athletes that competed in the Hamline Elite Meet on Friday, April 25 at Hamline University in St. Paul.     Braham Area High School senior athlete Tucker Gould put the pen to paper on Wednesday, April 23 by signing his national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletics career to participate in wrestling at Rochester Community and Technical College starting in the fall of 2025. “I was just super excited [to finally sign my letter of intent] and to be able to continue to wrestle on after my high school career,” Gould said.
