    The Forest Lake airport likely won’t be getting a runway expanded this year after the Minnesota Department of Transportation changed its funding share back to 90% after it had previously been to 95% for a short time. One runway is currently at 2,700 feet long, and a 2021 analysis recommended the runway extend to 3,000 feet, while a taxiway was to be extended 300 feet to continue serving that runway.

    The Lakeville Friends of the Environment is hosting a community “clothing swap” on June 21 at Ritter Farm Park in the Ed Mako Environmental Learning Center from 1-3 p.m. The event is meant to be a way for Lakeville neighbors to gather while also recycling clothing items. “We just want people to slow down and to take a look at their closets and the pieces that they have loved and outgrown, and pass it on to somebody in their community,” said organizer Megan Lamb.
