    VICTORIA, Texas - St. Peter's Baptist Church hosted a gospel musical for the public featuring several local artists including the church's choir. The event began on 4:30 p.m. April 12. The theme was "Unity in the Community."Devyn Jey Whittington and Dorothy Cunningham are other local artists that performed. It also featured six-time Stellar Award Nominee Endurance, a gospel singing quartet out of Houston. The church plans to hold a musical every three months, save for unforeseen circumstances.

Child Protective Services agent Stephanie Loewe says her job is more about saving families than it is about taking kids away. Loewe says the ultimate goal is to have a safe and healthy environment for children, ideally with their immediate family or guardian.

    VICTORIA, Texas - The Victoria Police Department arrested a man with an active warrant out of Refugio County. Ralph Zavala is accused of Indecency with a Child. Authorities first saw Zavala just before 4 p.m. near E. Airline Street and N. Laurent Street. Officers stopped Zavala around Sycamore Street. At time of publication, Zavala is in the Victoria County Jail. Victoria County is set to transfer Zavala to Refugio County sometime this week.
