On Saturday morning, Taoiseach Micheál Martin unveiled the Rory Gallagher Avenue at the main entrance to Cork Airport to honour the legendary Irish guitarist. Taoiseach Micheál Martin performed the renaming ceremony of the main thoroughfare through the airport, to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Cork musician’s death in 1995 with Cork’s Lord Mayor, Dan Boyle, and members of the Gallagher family among those in attendance.

Welsh rockers Stereophonics bring 'Stadium Anthems' tour to Virgin Media Park. Kelly Jones and the gang had to compete with the hurling Munster Final, and the start of the concert was delayed by fifteen minutes, but with the Cork hurlers coming out on top, the delay only added to the excitement. The gig brought a perfect end to the opening weekend of gigs at the Tramore Road venue.

Macklemore raps rain-soaked Cork fans at Virgin Media Park. Decked out in a Retro Cork City FC Jersey the American rapper declared his Cork heritage stated "It's good to be finally home", as he opened the 2025 summer series of shows at the Leeside venue. Support on the night was from Allie Sherlock and Rudimental. Over the next few weeks, The Corrs, Snow Patrol, Stereophonics, Duran Duran, The Saw Doctors, Chic, Madness, Ocean Colour Scene, and the Frank and Walters will perform at the ground.
