The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) today announced significant strides in expanding its conservation work on black-tailed deer and their habitat. MDF has dedicated thousands of man-hours, funding, and conservation work to both Columbia black-tailed deer and Sitka black-tailed deer. In 2022, MDF hosted a Black-tailed Deer Summit to evaluate current conservation efforts for the species.

The low winter sun paints highlights in the sage and snow-covered steppe. While the weather may not be ideal for all forms of hunting, it is almost perfect for spotting grouse.
