The latest version of Cannondale's SuperX builds on its previous success with some subtle updates, making it a stronger contender in the gravel bike market. It features increased tire clearance, with the frame accommodating up to 48mm tires and the fork allowing for 50mm tires, providing 4mm of clearance on all sides. Riders will appreciate the introduction of the Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) and Cannondale eliminating the proprietary AI wheel offsets.

Safety was never at the forefront of my mind in my early cycling days. From rocketing down descents to not always wearing a helmet to thinking safety accessories looked silly, I was doing very little to protect myself. I didn’t care. My first brush with distracted driving was when I watched a friend get T-boned midway through a ride on quiet country roads.

F+B’s parent company, CSS Composites, makes road wheels for Chris King and Bontrager, so it’s unsurprising that the company now offers a dedicated road/all-road wheelset under its own brand. I’ll begin by singing some praises: Without Strava, I’m not sure I’d have re-engaged with cycling at the level I did. Coming from just occasionally messing around on mountain bikes as a teenager to trying my best to race at an elite level, Strava has played a role in pushing me to PR, hunt KOMs, and ride faster and harder than ever before. However, over the past few years, I’ve become disenchanted with social media.

I’ve always had a love for sports, starting with the usual team ones such as football and baseball. But that faded in favor of more individual pursuits. Watching my dad roll down the driveway to go for a ride, I wanted to do the same. The bike was my first taste of freedom, a freedom to do it my way. It wasn’t always about going from point A to point B; sometimes it was simply meeting up with friends and going nowhere, seeing who could skid the farthest or jump off a higher pile of dirt.
