Police are still searching for an unknown number of suspects allegedly involved in a series of violent crimes across the country. This comes after only one suspect linked to cash-in-transit heists, ATM bombings and kidnappings was arrested in an Olievenhoutbosch raid last week. The remainder of the suspects fled on foot. Warrant Officer Wendy Nkabi said the suspects, a group of foreign nationals, managed to escape when police officers descended on a property in Ext 19, Shoba Maima Section.

Residents of Centurion are urged to avoid the corner of Langebrink Road and Burger Avenue in Lyttelton Manor because another sinkhole has formed in the area. Ward 57 Councillor David Farquharson confirmed that the latest sinkhole began forming in the early hours of Thursday between 02:00 and 03:00. “When I was notified about the sinkhole, it was still giving way in the early hours of this morning,” he said. He said the danger zone has since been barricaded for safety.

The Tshwane metro has confirmed that it is aware of the deteriorating gravel roads in Laezonia and has provided an update on its interventions. This comes after continued complaints from residents about safety risks, vehicle damage, and poor access. According to spokesperson Lindela Mashigo, the metro conducted its most recent site inspection on May 5 to assess the current state of the roads.
