MANATEE COUNTY — Manatee County officials have announced that the county-wide burn ban, issued due to dry weather conditions, will expire at 11:59 PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. The decision comes after recent rainfall and improved humidity levels have helped reduce the risk of wildfires in the region. “We’ve seen a positive shift in weather patterns, and conditions are trending in the right direction,” said Manatee County Commission Chair George Kruse.

BRADENTON — During a BOCC meeting on Tuesday, commissioners voted to approve the adoption of a county ordinance that will prohibit the opening of any new retail pet stores within Manatee County. Ordinance 25-33 came before the commissioners after a 6-0 vote in February instructed staff to draft such a provision, modeling a similar ordinance adopted by commissioners in Pinellas County.
