In this study, we investigated the individual and combined effects of VOC metabolites on COPD in the general population in the United States using multiple statistical strategies. Our findings revealed that of the 18 VOC metabolites examined, 9 showed a positive association with COPD in the multivariate logistic regression analysis.

This study was approved by the ethical committee of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital (Tianjin, P. R. China). Sixty pairs of fresh NSCLC tissues with paired noncancerous lung tissues from NSCLC patients were collected after informed consent were obtained from all subjects. These patients were all diagnosed as NSCLC by histologically confirmation and did not receive any chemotherapy or radiotherapy before surgery.
