The switch officially starts at 2:00 a.m. Sunday, March 9. Some devices, like televisions and phones, will likely update automatically, but others will need to be adjusted, such as wall clocks and car clocks.

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – Valentine’s Day weather is looking good for the Richmond area this year, with sunny skies and highs near 45 degrees. But we haven’t always been so lucky…The coldest Valentine’s Day in Richmond’s recorded history was in 2016 when we saw 27 degrees for a high temperature. As for the warmest Valentine’s Day, records indicate it was back in 1949 when we saw a high temperature of 79 degrees — very balmy conditions.

(WRIC) — As we head into the winter months of 2024-25 across Central Virginia, there are some new weather alerts to be mindful of when it comes to cold weather: an extreme cold warning and a cold weather advisory. These two weather alerts replace the previous wind chill warnings and wind chill advisories. An extreme cold warning is issued when there are dangerously cold air temperatures or wind chill values that are expected to happen or are occurring right now.
