Very low air quality continues this morning as wildfire smoke remains near the surface. An air quality alert extends until noon today but could be pushed further into the afternoon. If it weren’t for the smoke, it would be a fantastic day to get outside. Highs will be near 70 along the lake, with mid-70s inland. Winds will be light out of the northeast.

Warmer temperatures today as we quickly climb toward the 70s. A cold front will drop down from the north in the afternoon, sparking scattered showers and storms. There is a small chance for some storms to contain small hail and gusty winds. With that front, there will be some cooler Canadian air, but it will also be filled with wildfire smoke. Air quality will be dropping for sensitive groups today into the weekend.

HIGHER SEVERE RISK | Now a level 3 out of 5! All types of severe weather will be possible. If storms stay isolated a higher tornado risk will persist. The best storm chance looks north of I-94. I am worried after the last event people will not take these storms as serious! https://t.co/tYziV58UNI
