Singapore-based fintech M-DAQ has promoted Tan Choon Seng to group CEO, effective 13 May. Seng, who first joined the foreign exchange (FX) firm in January 2022 as chief of staff and GM of operations, will succeed Richard Koh, who is transitioning to the role of non-executive chairman. Koh founded M-DAQ with Wong Joo Seng and Noboru Takahashi in 2009. The company provides FX, collections, and payment solutions for businesses.

Mercantil Banco SA in Panama has partnered with Galileo Financial Technologies, the technology platform of US consumer fintech SoFi Technologies, to revamp its digital banking infrastructure with the Cyberbank Digital platform. Cyberbank Digital was launched by Galileo in 2022 following SoFi's acquisition of core banking software provider Technisys, and features a conversational AI engine alongside API-based microservices architecture.

TPG will acquire a majority stake in AvidXchange, while Corpay will invest approximately $500 million for a minority 33% equity stake. US fintech AvidXchange has agreed to be acquired by asset management firm TPG in partnership with Atlanta-based corporate payment solutions provider Corpay in a deal worth $2.2 billion. AvidXchange is a payments firm that specialises in accounts payable solutions for mid-sized companies and their suppliers.

According to a Companies House filing, GB Bank now holds a majority stake in the company. UK-based fintech SiverRock Financial Services is being folded into GB Bank, FinTech Futures understands, with Veronika Lovett rising to the role of CEO. The merger has seemingly been underway since March, according to a Companies House filing, which designates GB Bank as a new majority shareholder with a stake of 75% or more.

Yorkshire Building Society in the UK has partnered with Infosys to modernise and enhance the digital banking experience for its mortgage, commercial, and savings members. The partnership will see Yorkshire Building Society leverage the Indian tech heavyweight's cloud, data, AI, and cybersecurity solutions, which will be applied "with a deeper focus on end-to-end digital channels", according to Infosys EVP and global head of banking and financial services, Dennis Gada.
