Say the name "Havok," and I instantly picture the yellow sawblade in the company's logo. For PC gamers of the 2000s, that logo was a promise: Wonderful things await. But do younger PC gamers know what the name signifies? And do the rest know that the Irish middleware company, made famous through its use in games like Max Payne 2 and Half-Life 2, is still working its physics magic in big, recent games like Elden Ring and Helldivers 2?

There are unwell people on the internet who will try to convince you that every RPG before 2020 was full of hot people, but it's not true. Oblivionis so known for its ugly NPCs that a few years ago we asked Chris to go look for the ugliest Oblivion faces he could find.

Something curious I covered the other day: A company now has FDA clearance to treat stress with videogames that use its biofeedback SDK. It wants to connect game developers to the healthcare economy—ie, your insurance could one day cover videogames. https://t.co/tw0cbO8M4F

Was walking along a road by a marsh by the ocean in Pescadero, CA and encountered these fliers stapled to telephone poles. https://t.co/hYPVgyVbrn
