Triple-A: Norfolk Tides 15, Omaha Storm Chasers (Royals) 6The entire Norfolk offense was clicking in this game. They recorded their 15 runs on 15 hits, six walks, and seven strikeouts, and they went 6-for-15 with runners in scoring position. Coby Mayo led the way, going 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, a walk, and three RBI. Dylan Beavers scored four times, homered twice, and walked twice. Jud Fabian singled twice, stole a base, and scored a run.

TL,DR: Charlie Morton was good for four innings and bad for one. Cedric Mullins was the only one hitting until the eighth inning. And the new guy in the bullpen, Scott Blewett, debuted and looked good. The losses are stacking at the moment, and things are feeling desperate.

What started off as a decent night for the O’s starter turned into just another poor outing, while the Orioles offense was late to the party and couldn’t make up the six-run gap by the time they actually started hitting the ball. In the end, the Orioles lost again, this time 6-3 to the Guardians on Tuesday night at Camden Yards.

At the very least, these guys should be well-rested ahead of this series against the visiting Cleveland Guardians. The bullpen will have a new face in it since the last time we saw the O’s in action. Scott Blewett, a righty claimed off waivers from the Twins on Monday, was activated.

Coby Mayo had two hits and drove in both of the team’s runs. Jud Fabian had a very Jud Fabian type of game, walking three times and striking out twice. Dylan Carlson walked once and stole a base. Dylan Beavers walked in his one plate appearance as a pinch hitter.

After playing such a clean, disciplined game to open the series, last night was...not that. The O’s went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position. Charlie Morton was bad again. Gunnar Henderson made a throwing error. And that seventh inning where Tyler O’Neill failed to tag up was an abomination. Ugh.

Nick Turchiaro-Imagn Images The 2025 Orioles are built to win baseball games in one way: The offense scores a bunch of runs, the starting pitchers do just enough through five or so innings, and the bullpen locks things down. Through 10 games, that formula has proved faulty. In particular, the lineup has been under fire for early inconsistency. This was the unit that everyone expected to do the heavy lifting, creating wiggle room for the flawed rotation to operate.
