Photo by Joe Scarnici/Getty Images This past Sunday against the Angels was another somewhat frustrating outing for Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman. He started off the day with a bit of good fortune, rocketing a ball so high into the California sun that Angel’s left fielder Taylor Ward lost track of it and it turned into an RBI triple. The luck Adley had on that triple is the opposite of what we’ve seen from him over the first quarter of the season.

Kirby Lee-Imagn Images Hello, friends. The Orioles...? The team winning a series is so rare this year that it must be savored when it happens. They picked up the victory in Anaheim against the Angels yesterday to take the series. The 7-3 win included a decent start from Zach Eflin as he returned from the injured list and O’s hitters doing enough to get into a bad Angels bullpen, and, crucially, taking advantage of that opportunity.

Kirby Lee-Imagn Images The Baltimore bats came to life in the California sun, as the O’s used rallies in the 5th and 6th innings to outshine the Angels in a 7-3 win. The Orioles fell behind 2-1 early, but used some small ball to retake the lead in the 5th. Emmanuel Rivera led off the inning by smashing the ball to third base, with the ball ricocheting off Yoán Moncada’s glove, allowing Rivera to reach on an E5.

Where to watch: MASN 2Probable pitchers: RHP Zach Eflin (2-1, 3.00 ERA, 8 Ks) vs. LHP Tyler Anderson (2-0, 2.68 ERA, 34 Ks)For the first time in weeks, the Orioles have a reason to celebrate. In addition to celebrating all the moms who make Birdland what it is, the O’s can celebrate the return of ace Zach Eflin on this Mother’s Day. Eflin is back in the Orioles’ rotation after spending the last four weeks on the IL with a right lat strain.
